Here is the final installment of our “My Funny Valentine” Blog Contest. This is a cute little story that reminds us that there is always someone out there loves you – whether you want them to or not ;)

When I was 12, my class had decided that we would have a Valentine’s Day party and give out Valentines. It’s pretty common to do this, but in my Valentine box that I made, not only did I have a valentine from everyone in the class, including the teacher, but there was also a huge valentine with my name written all over it and huge purple hearts. It really looked like something made by a 12 year old girl. At first I figured, ah it’s just something made by a bully or someone to play a trick on me, but my curiosity got the better of me and I read it. It said that the girl would meet me at the end of the school day out by the buses. I figured well I’m going to be going out there anyway, but how would I know who the girl was? It said I would know because she would have a huge red heart balloon and candy for me. So the day went by, and I was thinking about all the girls that it could be, even going as far to compare the handwriting on the valentines that had been given to me to the big one to no avail. Finally, the end of the day came and I slowly walked out towards where the buses were. I was there for about 3 minutes right in the middle so someone could see me. Nobody came, so I thought I was going to miss my bus. Then suddenly I heard someone shout my name behind me. I turned and looked and saw a big red heart balloon, and behind it was…

MY MOM!…Apparently she had slipped the valentine into my box before I had left for school that day. She came up to me a gave me a kiss on the cheek and said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, honey!” Then I heard banging behind and looked in horror as the school bus containing two of my best friends and other kids had just passed by and everyone was laughing(everyone had seen/heard the valentine all through the day). My friend still teases me about that to this day..especially on Valentine’s Day!!

Can you imagine?! As embarrassing as it was for him then, I’m sure he’s moved passed it now and might even get his mom a Valentine’s Day gift this year. And if this Swaggernaut is smart he’ll go to our Valentine’s Day section of the Shop&Earn so that he can rack up some Swag Bucks for purchasing that perfect Valentine’s gift.

BTW don’t forget to sign up for the Shop&Earn newsletter which will be going out in early Feb. and will have a little “coded sweetener” for everyone ;)
