Twilight: How Do You REALLY Feel?

TSG came across an interesting article about the phenomenon that is the Twilight series. In the article, the author (who is male) unabashedly professes his love for Twilight and implores other males to start being honest with themselves and either admit its good or come up with a better reason than budding machismo to say that its not good.

I thought I'd get your unbiased take on it. Remember polls are anonymous and no one will EVER KNOW HOW YOU VOTED. So let's make this interesting and cast your votes 100% honestly.

There, doesn't that feel good? No matter how you voted ;-)

such a pathetic excuse for a book ^_^ i want the shirt and then buffy staked edward the end :) hehe its horribly written and honestly if that is true love i think i chose the option of being loveless the characters lack depth and its just horrible

I'm a guy, and I'm not afraid to admit that Stephenie Meyer is my favorite author and I love ALL of her books. She is a brilliant writer and the TWILIGHT series is an amazing quadrilogy of books. KaiSteelSmith..... DON'T JUDGE! XD

Twilight SUCKS. Majorly. I agree with the last poster, I want that Buffy stakes Edward shirt too. Buffy is vampires done right. Twilight is vampires done horribly, horribly wrong.

All this is is a book and movie for little 12-14 year old girls that dont know the difference between fantasy and reality. One critic said that Twilight is the next Harry Potter phenomenon. Well, Twilight needed a much better theme to base its story on other than a classic "normal girl meets extraordinary guy, they fall in love, happily ever after" mixed with blood-desiring vampires. It was a phenomenon all-right. EPIC FAIL.

Hate it it's way to annoying im all bout the old school vampires and werewolve's twighlight just plainly kills the old thought of em and for that i hate the whole series

Sorry, but the ending just sucked. I wish that they would've fought >_> Kinda kept me hooked, although I was losing interest fast during the boring parts. Kept reading for the action scenes, I suppose.

worst more ever!!!!!!

the characters do lack depth. plus, theyre only in highschool (yes to all you fangirls out there, highschool problems dont really matter) its like, BAM, your in highschool and you found your true love. wtf? try holding onto a girl for 4 years (specially if ur a teenager) thats hard as hell. even if you are a vampire.

I didn't read the book (as a guy) but I took my little sister to go see the movie. Honestly, I hope the book was better than the movie because the movie was nothing - It had nothing in it. . .I've on numerous occasions compared it to watching an episode of a new reality show "The Day in the Life of a High School Student".

Though, the author of the book could have done something to at least incorporate some of a vampires traits into the movie instead of making them regular humans who sparkle in the sunlight. . I mean, really?. . .come on.

anonymous #4 i second that.
i admit that i was into it during the reading it, but once i finished all four i realized that it was probably one of the worst things i had read pretty much ever.

and the movie wasnt worth anything either.

Pfft, where are all of my loyal Twilight haters at?

Twilight is everything I hope NOT to become if I can ever become a writer. Meaningless romance with no actually chemistry, it's just a teenage girl fantasy. It should be valued as some sort of Quizilla Fanfiction done almost right, than a good piece of literature.

I really love the Twilight Saga and I don't care who sees my name. The love story is really great, but then again, i'm easily pleased.

Honestly I wish they had an extra option, I couldn't vote for "Biggest Piece of Crap ever Made, makes me like books a little less, and trilogies and lot more" can't stand it, just make an off base idea like he said, have Buffy stake him, she wouldn't fall for that crap end his pathetic life, and love with a vamp, come on Angel and Buffy had it way better, burn twilight

this is the dumbest blog topic I've seen. Twilight is a very immature film and book albeit popular.

Anonymous said...

meh. twilight is not that great...it only became popular because of the actors, rob pattz and taylor lautner who play edward and jacob. The whole thing is soooooo overrated...

How anyone can like this crap is beyond me. The people that defend this heap of garbage are beyond saving.

Let's hope they realize one day just how awful what they once defended day and night is.

My biggest problem with the twilight series is that it looks like it was written for elementary age children. The font in enormous! With that in mind, why are all my 40-60 year old co-workers reading it? Also, the plot is lame and they're just not that well written.

I think Twilight is one of the worst book series ever to leave the human mind. What kind of vampire 'loves'?
And if I didn't know Robert P. I would have thought he was gay. This series AND the movie is BS

You need an option that states: "I read it for the lols." I mean, the first one is kinda serious, but after that you cannot take the books seriously anymore.

@BigDaddyFresh I full agree, i dont understand what is so popular about Twilight. It's not even really the story that i dont like ( really bad though) it's the disgrace they give to vampires. Seriously...sparkle in the sunlight? WTF are you some sort of pixie? It's like if there was a story if there was a werewolf that turns into like a chihuahua and cuddles instead of just massacring people. I have to say Twilight sucks.

dont be so crude i luv guys[and i am a girl] who are sensitive enough to like twilight so all of the guys who say they hate twilight just to look macho would rarely get a date from me or many girls

The books weren't too bad. The first one was the best. The second one would have been better if we didn't have to hear for hundreds of pages how pathetic Bella is. The author started a completely different book in the middle of the second, having Bella go off to save Edward. She couldn't even save herself for goodness sake. And I honestly believe she would have been better off with Jake than with Edward. She is overly dependent on Edward and he's obsessed with her. Not a healthy relationship. I agree with the poster that said they should have fought at the end of book four. The author built up the suspense for that only to let down the readers. I almost didn't read the books because the movie was so horrible. Bad actors and bad acting.

I read the book before it got big, I saw it at the library and got it. I actually somewhat liked the books (I've only read 1 & 2), but I've read way better books, including vampire/human love stories. When it got really big I decided not even to finish the series, I was sick of all the crazy OCD overly obsessed fan girls (I think some of them need their heads checked, it's just a book). I saw the movie cause my mom was watching it, and it was the worst movie ever. I don't think they put any effort in it, it was sold for it's name not it's quality. And I saw the trailer for New Moon and it looks horrible too; I don't understand how everyone's thinking it's great. I'm pretty sure they could've at least used better computer graphics for the werewolf, and made him look like how he was described in the book, and less like a kitty.

I'm indefferent. I used to be a fan before all the fangirls knew about it and before it started to get annoying. I think the fangirls are the ones that are making people hate the books. Honestly, they go way to far with it. The books themselves are not that bad. They are a good read. And although the prospect of sparkling vampires is ridiculous, I don't mind reading Meyer's interpretation or her own twist. Writing is about your own creativity, not about what others want. Props to her for writing her own way. I hate when people write to please others and not themselves. Some of her writing and ideas are a bit contradicting to eachother, but I have better things to do than complain about it. Who cares. Read it and get over it lol. :P

I read the first one to give it a chance, but it was bad in just about every way. I doesn't matter if you are a guy or a girl, you should understand how bad it is.

This poll isn't accurate, because you don't ask whether you like the book or the movie - they're very different things - I love the book saga, and despise that poor excuse for a film.

"dont be so crude i luv guys[and i am a girl] who are sensitive enough to like twilight so all of the guys who say they hate twilight just to look macho would rarely get a date from me or many girls" <---- LOL if you mean guys who are sensitive enough to go hey i love the abusive relationship that bella and edward have i want one to :) just like all twilight fangirls do :) btw i am somehat effeminate and I am a gay guy and all i have to say is RUBBISH THIS BOOK IS. ooooHHHH also i dont care about looking macho ^_^ because i full and well know im not
