Ask The Swag Gal (October 28, 2009)

Posted by on Wed, October 28th, 2009 at 9:00 am

It’s Wednesday and Halloween is right around the corner. Kilmer from Payson, UT is eager to hear what I find so intriguing about this holiday.

What is your favorite thing to do for Halloween?

Halloween has always been my favorite time of year. There is something about the chill in the air that brings out the kid in me. Whether its picking out the costume or decorating the house, you can find me in the thick of it.

To answer your question Kilmer, my favorite part of Halloween is organizing the party I throw every year. This is the one event where I have all the control and I love it! For starters, I require everyone to wear a costume (including my dog!) if you show up without one, you had better be prepared for a dunking in the apple tank!

I plan everything on the menu. This year’s party will feature severed fingers (sugar cookies with almond finger nails), a severed hand (edible gummy mold), mummy dogs (hot dogs in crescent rolls) and of course a blood punch (cranberry juice cocktail). Candy, yes, I can’t forget the candy. Mixed chocolates, caramel apples, and candy corn.

Decorations have been up since the first week of October. A medium sized graveyard at the side of the house, with graves, coffins, lights, fog and an bench for pictures. And, of course, a Friday the 13th silhouette of Jason in the window to scare the trick or treaters. I can’t wait!

Scary movies are a given, “Halloween“, “The Exorcist“, “Rosemary’s Baby“, “Nightmare on Elm Street“, Stephen King’s “It“, there really are too many to name. These will be a constant in the background for the entire party along with scary music. No, not Monster Mash…ok maybe :)

So as you can see Kilmer, TSGal takes Halloween very seriously! What about you? What’s your favorite part of Halloween? Leave a comment and let us know. If you’ve got a great costume idea you’re working on for this year, I’d love to hear all about that too!

I hope everyone has a safe Halloween and don’t forget to have fun!

Keep those questions coming, don’t be shy! Send an email to theswaggal@swagbucks.com and you if your question gets chosen, you’ll be 15 Swag Bucks richer. See you next week!
