TSG’s Trivia Pursuits

If you’ve ever wondered where I come up with the questions I use on Thursdays, here’s the answer – a lot of the time they come from the Swag Nation! I love using your submissions, so along those lines I thought you might appreciate some tips for writing the perfect question.
1. Pick a theme
Your question can be about history, entertainment, music, sports, geography – anything, really.
2. Give the question multiple parts
If there’s one thing I know about Swaggernauts it’s that they’re quick to answer questions – I’m beginning to think that some of them might be part of The Matrix. Because of that, it always makes it more fun to have a four-part question.
So instead of: “What were the three ships Christopher Columbus used to sail to the new world?”
You might ask: “What were the three ships Christopher Columbus used to sail to the new world? What year did they leave? What year did they return? Who commissioned the trip?”
(Keep in mind that I may edit your questions down – after all, I only get 140 characters to ask them!)
3. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!
This is a biggie. I know we all love Wikipedia, but the truth is that since their info can be edited by anyone it isn’t the most reliable, so even if that’s a starting point for you, find another reputable source to back you up. Just include a link in your email to your source(s).
This may seem like a lot of work but it really isn’t, and if I use your question I’ll hook you up with 100 Swag Bucks, just like that.
Send your questions to theswagyguy(AT)swagbucks.com with “Twitter Trivia” in the subject line.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with, and remember, although I might not use your submission the week you send it, I frequently look through older submissions…
I’m looking forward to getting submissions from all of you!
