This week’s Ask the Swag Gal comes from a chef extraordinaire just like many of you. Let’s see what sorts of solutions we can come up with her, leave your ideas in the comments here.
Dear Swag Gal,
This past Thanksgiving was great and all of my family from Arizona, Michigan and California came to our home. It was great to wake up on Thanksgiving morning to a living room full of sleeping bags, children and smell the coffee my mother had already started brewing. We didn’t have to make any last minute trips to the store or anything! One huge problem, we spent the majority of our meal cost purchasing a last minute organic turkey to meet one persons dinner request. Do you know how we can avoid this large of a turkey, ham or other meat fee but still have an organic meat for Christmas?
Organic foods are always pricey, but thanks to the internet, you have the ability to do some comparison shopping in advance. You may be able to get some Post-Thanksgiving or Pre-Christmas deals on Organic meats. If this is for one person, you could create a smaller organic dish to meet their dietary requirements without breaking the bank. If it’s a request and not a requirement, you could ask the person making the request to help you find a deal – it’s likely that they’re more experienced with shopping for that type of food.
If you need a place to start, you can visit the Shop&Earn here at Swagbucks and compare prices, cuts and products between Hearst Ranch and La Cense Beef. Both companies offer all organic, grass fed beef and more.
Hearst Ranch has a larger variety of meats whereas La Cense Beef sticks to the cattle. Both companies offer a quality product, can deliver it to you on time and when you make a purchase with them you earn 2 SB for every dollar spent. Also, Harry & David’s offer pre-sliced ready to-go ham and turkey trays and all of their products (fruits, vegetables and meats) are organic, fresh and top-shelf foods.
Do any of you other Swagsters prefer an organic meat and know the spot to get a great deal on one? If so, tell us in the comments!
