How Networked Is Your City?
Good Morning Swag Nation! This is Hal from Team Swagbucks. Yesterday I came across this article on Mashable.com that features a list of the 100 Socially Networked U.S. Cities according to Men’s Health Magazine – not necessarily the place any of us would go to get our tech/social networking fix, but it’s a good read nonetheless. The top ten was filled with a lot of the cities I could have expected to see – Austin, San Francisco, Seattle – all cities with thriving tech industries and young, connected populations. But the number one city was a bit of a shock to me – Washington, DC? Of course, the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.
How many politicians have made the leap into social media lately? Twitter is a great way to stay connected to your voter base with short messages, and Facebook can be used very effectively as an organization tool. Maybe more surprising is finding L.A. at #33, or New York at #53 – kind crazy, huh?
Where does your city (or the closest city to you) rank?
