On August 15th, 1965, the Beatles shattered the world record for attendance at a pop concert when they played at Shea Stadium in front of 55,600 screaming and adoring fans. It was one year earlier that they made their breakthrough performance on Ed Sullivan and forever changed the landscape of American music. They were still two years away from their groundbreaking Sgt.
