Swagbucks Book Club – In Your Own Words

by Team Swagbucks on Fri, May 18th, 2012 at 10:00 am

Welcome to the weekly gathering of the Swagbucks Book Club. We have been meeting here every Friday for just over a year now.  Can you believe it?  In that time you have exposed me to many great reads I otherwise would never have picked up.  I’ve also enjoyed getting to know you through your discerning and intelligent contributions to the discussions.  It should not come as a surprise to me that we have several published authors amongst us, and I want to take the month of June celebrating the Swaggernaut Author.

The selection for the month of June is Kickshaw Candies by R.K. Finnell, a Swagbucks Book Club member.  Amazon includes the following as a description for Kickshaw Candies: The town of Baile seems to be just a small town with ordinary people until Teagan O’Brien opens an unusual candy shop. Something ancient and buried begins to awaken in the people when they consume his sweets.  We will discuss this book on the last Friday of June (the 29th for the calendarly challenged).

I’ve also lined up another Swagbucks member and author of Vengeance Is Mine, Zada Leon, to be here to host a discussion about her book, her writing method, and how she broke into the business on June 22.

My goal is to fill the entire month spotlighting books by Swaggernauts so if you are a published author or poet, and would like to participate please send me an email at bookclub@swagbucks.com.  Tell me a little about your work and include your swag name.  Maybe you are not a writer but you know someone who is and they would like to be included.  This could be a great way to get a new referral and earn more Swag Bucks.  The only requirement to be included is that the work must be available to the general public through commercial outlets like Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Don’t forget that next Friday we will be discussing Ray Bradbury’s classic Fahrenheit 451.

For fun today I want to know – If you were to write your autobiography, what would it be titled?

See you next week!

-Becky
