Summer Movie Preview: ParaNorman and Sparkle

If you’re looking for a great way to beat the heat, TSG suggests you head to the movies.  For those of you who like watching movies as much as I do, you can snag a $10 or $25 Fandango Gift card right from the Swag Store to help you save on your next trip to the theater.  We also have this series of blog posts during the summer months – to let you know which blockbusters are coming out each week!

ParaNorman looks like my kind of movie.  Directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell, ParaNorman is a film about a misunderstood boy who can speak to the dead who takes on ghosts, zombies, and grown-ups in an effort to save his town from a centuries-old curse.  It stars Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, John Goodman, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and others.

This next movie will forever be remembered as Whitney Houston’s final film.  Directed by Salim Akil, Sparkle is set in the 1960s and tells the story of three sisters who form a girl group and soon become Motown sensations.  However, problems arise when fame becomes a challenge as the close-knit family begins to fall apart.  Sparkle stars Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks, Mike Epps, Cee-Lo Green, and more.
