Happy Friday, Swaggernauts! Not only is today Friday, but it’s also the last day of Summer. Do you have any exciting weekend plans to help you start the Fall season off on the right foot? If you’re looking for some fun activities the whole family can enjoy, check out these suggestions:
-Grab the tent, grab the sleeping bags, grab the flashlights, and don’t forget the spooky stories! You don’t need to travel to a campsite to enjoy a night in nature with your family. Toast marshmallows and make s’mores and the night’s sure to be a success!
-Check out the local community theater and see what’s going on this weekend. Whether it’s an opera, a ballet, or a drama, there’s sure to be some great entertainment waiting for you to enjoy.
-Volunteering is a great activity to do with the family. Not only will you be able to enjoy some quality time together, but you’ll be helping out your community. There’s many different options when it comes to volunteering: helping out at the soup kitchen, lending your time to the local library, picking up trash on the beach, etc. Choose an activity, and spend the day making the place in which you live just a little bit better.
Take A Hike
-Find a nature trail around your area and enjoy the last few moments of the beautiful outdoors, before it gets too cold to appreciate. Don’t forget to wear your hiking boots!
–A scavenger hunt is an activity the kids will love, and you can do it anywhere! Make a list of items the kids need to find. If you’re planning the scavenger hunt to be outdoors, choose items like a pinecone, a red rock, a flower with six petals, etc. If you want to plan a scavenger hunt for around the house, choose items like something blue that has 4 sides, something that bounces, an unsharpened pencil, etc. Feel free to combine your scavenger hunt with the nature walk.
