Introducing MULTIPLE Charities

by TSGal on Wed, October 3rd, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Last month we represented The Humane Society of the United States, and thanks to all of your generosity we raised over 220,000 Swag Bucks!  Your furry friends thank you, as you have helped in the effort against cruelty, exploitation and neglect.

With the start of the new month, it’s time to announce the charity we’ve chosen to represent for October.  But this time, we’re going to do things a little bit differently.  For the first time ever in Swagbucks history, we are offering MULTIPLE CHARITIES for you to donate to.  This gives you the choice to spend your Swag Bucks on something you’re truly passionate about.  Some of these charities you may recognize from previous months and others may be launching on Swagbucks for the first time.  All four of these charities will be available for donations until THE END OF THE YEAR!  Let’s learn about each one.

Smile Train

Every child born with a cleft anywhere in the world has the opportunity to live a full, productive life.

Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. Aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job. And face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache. Their clefts usually go untreated because they are poor – too poor to pay for a simple surgery that has been around for decades.

Smile Train partners with hospitals, surgeons, doctors and providers of medical equipment to help providing a sustaining solution all around the world. Smile Train doesn’t just help individuals in need; they provide education and technology needed to ensure that the regions they help have everything the need in order to do their own cleft care, surgeries and more for years to come.

Please help us in supporting Smile Train and all the inspiring, life-changing work they do by donating your Swag Bucks today.

Unicef

UNICEF was first established as the United Nations Children’s Fund by the United Nations General Assembly in 1946 to provide emergency food and health care for the children of countries left devastated by World War II. Since then, it has become a permanent part of the United Nations System and has won both the Nobel Peace Prize and the Prince of Asturias Award.

Today, UNICEF continues to support children and their mothers in need worldwide by responding to emergencies as needed and providing quality nutritional resources, health care, HIV treatment and prevention, general education, as well as advocacy for children, mothers, gender equality, and more.

Please support UNICEF by donating your Swag Bucks today.

The Humane Society of the United States

The Humane Society of the United States is the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organization—backed by 11 million people. Established in 1954, The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. We are America’s mainstream force against cruelty, exploitation and neglect, as well as the most trusted voice extolling the human-animal bond. Our mission statement: Celebrating Animals, Confronting Cruelty. On the web at humanesociety.org.

Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is an independent non profit organization that has been supporting the United States military and their allies by providing medical resources and financial support since 2000. The Fallen Heroes Fund is an ongoing attempt to give something back to the heroes of the military that sacrifice so much to keep our country and its rights secure. In its first five years of operation, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund granted nearly $20 million to families of United States and British soldiers lost in the line of duty. Since then, the Fund has focused on providing rehabilitation and necessary medical attention to those returning home. With this goal in mind, the Fund has opened several state of the art facilities to support and provide rehabilitation to those returning home with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), including the National Intrepid Center of Excellence. This facility opened in 2010 and is already hard at work, researching new ways to treat and prevent TBI.

Please help the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund in their efforts to give something back to those who give us so much.

You will notice now if you visit the Swag Store, Charity has its own category where you can find the available charities to donate to.
