Swagbucks Book Club – Looking Good!
Welcome to the Swagbucks Book Club. If this is your first time joining us and you want to know more about us check out this post for more info.
Currently we are reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It is available as Kindle version here in the Swag Store. It is an easy yet intriguing read and the book is peppered with “a strange collection of very peculiar photographs”. I hope you will join us on Friday, October 26th for the discussion of this debut novel.
Speaking of peculiar children, today happens to be my birthday. And on this day known for gifts I want to give something back to you. US users, enter before 11:30 am Pacific Time and you’ll get 5 Swag Bucks. I also wanted to share with you one of my guilty pleasures: Cook Books!
Just like with Atlases, I can while away hours flipping through cook books dreaming of all the things I could whip up. Of course in this daydream I have all the necessary ingredients, perfectly measured and someone else to clean up after me. I’m typically drawn to cook books with an abundance of pictures, preferably one for each recipe. I suppose it is similar to tracing a map to where you want to go, it is easier if I know what the dish is supposed to look like when I finish. But to be honest, my favorite and my most useful cook book is How to Cook Everything Vegetarian by Mark Bittman and it doesn’t include a single photograph, just a few line drawings.
Do you have a favorite cook book? Tell us about it in the comments and on Monday I will randomly hook up 10 people with 25 Swag Bucks for their shares.
See you next week!
