Important Charity Update
In last week’s Charity Update, we announced that we were opening up a Red Cross Sandy Relief Fund to help those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. After just a week of donations, we’ve already taken in almost 450,000 Swag Bucks. This is absolutely incredible, and just goes to show what generous Swaggernauts we have, especially when there are personal ties involved. Being that the East Coast is currently in a state of emergency, we want to send our help as soon as possible. We have decided that we will be sending the first round of donations for the American Red Cross Superstorm Sandy Relief Fund on Friday, November 9th. If you would like your donation to be included in this first round, be sure to get your contribution in by Friday, November 9th at 12pm PST. Also, we want our help to go a long way, so Swagbucks is going to increase your donation! Here’s how. Very shortly, we will be sending out a tweet on our Twitter page. For every ReTweet that initial tweet gets, we will increase the donation. The tweet will look like this:
“For every ReTweet, Swagbucks will increase their donation to the Red Cross Sandy Relief Fund.”
Be sure to ReTweet it yourself, and tell your friends and family to ReTweet it, as well. The more ReTweets, the higher the donation that will be made to the American Red Cross Superstorm Sandy Relief Fund on Friday, November 9th. Keep in mind, this charity will remain open for donations, as we will be sending them another check later in the year.
In addition to the American Red Cross Superstorm Sandy Relief Fund, we have other charities still available for your donations until the end of the year. We are proud to announce that, as of November 1st, charity:water has returned to the Swag Store as an option to donate. charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. They use 100% of public donations to directly fund sustainable water solutions in areas of greatest need. Right now, 800 million people on the planet don’t have access clean and safe drinking water. That’s one in nine of us. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren’t strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses. Just $20 can give one person access to clean water.
Every Swag Buck counts.
