How To Make A Stuffed Animal Change Purse

Do you have some old stuffed animals lying around that nobody plays with anymore?  Why not turn it into an adorable change purse?  I found this awesome tutorial on Instructables.com, and it’s perfect for me, because I have so many stuffed animals from my childhood lying around my house.  You’d think by now I wouldn’t have just thrown them all out or given them away, but I just can’t part with them.  So now, I can recycle them into products I’ll actually use.  Here’s the tutorial:

Materials:

  • a stuffed animal with a long seam
  • a zipper
  • scissors
  • seam ripper
  • a sock
  • glue gun

Directions:

Step 1: Use the seam ripper to rip out the seam that you will put the zipper on.

Step 2: Cut the sock a few inches from the toe.

Step 3: Now it’s time to glue the sock in. Glue it to the edge of the animal, but leave room for the zipper.

Step 4: Continue to glue the sock around the edge until you have reached the place where you started.

Step 5: Now for the zipper! When you flue the zipper on, be sure that you don’t glue the part that the zipper runs along, otherwise it would never zip.

Step 6: Now all you need are coins to fill it!

Okay, it’s your turn!  Post a link to a picture of your stuffed animal change purse in the comments section below, and we might hook you up with 100 Swag Bucks!  Have fun!
