Swagbucks Book Club – Free to Read

Top 5 resources for free ebooks

Today’s topic was suggested by Swagbucks Book Club member Vmoneyz who wanted to know the best places on the web to get free and legal ebooks.  If you have more suggestions please leave them in the comments.  On Monday I will randomly choose 3 contributors and award them 25 Swag Bucks each.  Use this post as a resource and share it with your friends who are also avid readers, or those just looking for a great deal on an ebook.

  1.  Project Gutenberg – this site offers over 42,000 free ebooks in both epub and Kindle formats.  You can download them or read them online.
  2.  Open Culture – offers 375 free ebooks for Kindle, iPad/iPhone and NOOK; including great works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
  3.  Pixel of Ink – Free & Bargain Kindle Books.  Each day this site offers new free Kindle books plus bargain Kindle books.  Check it daily to see what is new.
  4.  Barnes & Noble free NOOK books – Offers both complete works and excerpts of new releases.  At last count they featured 1,847,962 titles sorted by subject.
  5.  Goodreads – offers multiple formats as well as complete works and excerpts of 2,500 titles.

Hopefully you will find some new and interesting titles to try out or finally get around to reading that classic that has been on your list forever – all at no cost!

Don’t forget to come back next Friday (3/29/13 10am PDT) when we will be discussing our March reading selection – The Fault in our Stars by John Green.  Not only will there be great conversation but plenty of Swag Bucks to go around.
