Two Days of Unrated Fun, Two Shots at 200 Swag Bucks
Happy Weekend, Swag Nation!
It was really great to get to speak with you all during Wednesday’s Game Challenge. We love getting your feedback and hopefully, you see us making good use of it. Keeping with the theme of getting your feedback, for this weekend, you will have a choice between the three games I see not a single Swaggernaut has rated yet. These are decent games, people! And if not, let the Swag Nation know with your ratings!
We’ve featured this game on a Weekend Game Challenge fairly recently, but if you missed it and were bummed about it, here’s your chance. Click and hold the bowl to get started and shift it around, side to side to catch the balls falling from above. The number on the balls falling represents the amount added to your score and your life if you are able to catch it. If a ball is allowed to hit anywhere outside of the bowl, the value on the ball will be subtracted from the life you have remaining. Lose enough life and the game is over.
In this side-scrolling shooter, you command a ship that shoots lasers, plasma, and photons, doesn’t care for space traffic, and especially dislikes touching rocky surfaces. Collect upgrades and cash drops that add to your score and enable you to clear the way for a longer run. Guide your spacecraft with the arrow keys, change your ammo type with D, and hit W to fire your weapons.
This is a fun avoider type game. In it, you use your cursor to guide a blue orb, “the packet,” to the red orbs, “the target hubs,” while avoiding the pink orb security pings. If that sounds complicated, it really isn’t. It’s just a buncha good old fashioned orb-movin and avoidin’ fun. Just watch out for the pink things because if they touch you, the game is over.
So what’s this Weekend’s Game Challenge? Play either Catch 2, Project Omega, or Hack Visual and post a link to a screenshot of any point in the game in the comments. For each of these correctly filled out posts, you will have one entry in a raffle to win 200 Swag Bucks. You may enter as many times as you like with new screenshots of different scores or games. One winner will be selected at random from each day of entries and announced in this blog post and on Twitter on Monday. That means, if you enter on Saturday, you can come back Sunday to enter again and be part of a new raffle. If you need an image hosting service, I recommend tinypic.com. The link you want is the URL.
You can also participate via Twitter by tweeting your screenshot @Swagbucks, along with your Swag Name and the hashtag #sbgames. You may place each entry both on Twitter and in the comments, but if you win from an entry placed on Twitter, you will win an additional 100 Swag Bucks.
If you haven’t tried your hand at a tournament yet, this weekend would be a good time. Some of the Progressive tournaments will be paying out on Monday and if you’re one of the lucky winners of this Weekend’s Game Challenge and your screenshot shows a score from one of the above games entered in a tournament over the weekend, you will win an additional 50 Swag Bucks regardless of how you did in the tournament.
I know that’s a lot of text so hopefully, you’re still with me. If you have any thoughts or suggestions about the new games area, tournaments or challenges, while I will not be available in the comments over the weekend, I will certainly read them all on Monday and would love to feature one of your suggestions for the next Weekend Game Challenge.
Good luck. Have fun. Have a great weekend!
Update: This week’s winners were fingers7 and kimmie8isgr8 – Congratulations!
