Saturday Do-It-Yourself – Caked Alaska

It’s after Labor Day so bikini season is officially over and we can stop sucking in our stomachs, right?  If not, then don’t read any farther or you will fall in love with one of the most decadent desserts I’ve ever seen.  Allow me to introduce you to Caked Alaska, submitted by Albarwahab of Chicago, IL.


Caked Alaska

Ingredients for the Brownies:

  • 3/4 Cup Butter
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1/4 Cups Of Melted Cooking Chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp Of Milk
  • 1 Tsp Of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder



  1. Beat Sugar and butter together until the mixture becomes creamy
  2. Add in Flour , Cocoa Powder and Baking Powder and mix
  3. Now add the Eggs, Vanilla Extract , Milk and the melted chocolate and mix
  4. Pour the mixture into a 9×9 Inch Pan and Bake it at 350 degree F


How to Present :

  • Place a slice of Warm Brownie on a Plate
  • Place two Scoops Of Vanilla Ice-cream on top
  • Place another slice of Warm Brownie on the top of the Ice-cream
  • Drizzle Melted Chocolate and Cream on the top
