Swagbucks Book Club – Spine-tingling Selection
It was a close race to the finish in the vote for the Swagbucks Book Club October title but in the end the winner is The Shining by Stephen King. I’m looking forward to this title as I’ve never read this best-seller. And to be perfectly honest, I have been too scared to watch the movie. I hope you will join us and read or re-read The Shining. We will be discussing this title on Friday, October 25th here in the blog.
Another reason to join in reading this title (besides the lively discussion between amazing members) is the opportunity to earn extra Swag Bucks! Just by participating in the weekly discussions you have the chance to be awarded 25 Swag Bucks. Another way is to submit a book review of any book of your choosing. It is best to include a short synopsis and some input about why you liked it and what you would recommend about it. Email your book reviews to: email@example.com. If your review is featured here in the book club you will be awarded 500 Swag Bucks! Don’t forget to include your Swag Name so we can properly credit your account!
The Shining – Jack Torrance’s new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he’ll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote . . . and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.
You might also be interested in Stephen King’s latest novel Doctor Sleep that continues the story of Dan Torrance whom we first meet in The Shining.
Today’s Discussion Topic: If you were subject to spending several winter months alone caretaking a closed resort and could bring just one book, which would you choose and why.
Don’t forget that on Monday I will randomly choose 3 contributes in the comments and hook them up with 25 Swag Bucks!
