Some songs withstand the test of time.  But not all…

On this day in 1978 Rod Stewart was at Number 1 on the UK singles chart with “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy” from his album Blondes Have More Fun.  It wouldn’t be until February of the following year for it to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US.  But not everyone thought Rod was sexy.  A plagiarism lawsuit by Brazilian musician Jorge Ben Jor confirmed that the song had been derived from his composition ‘Taj Mahal’. Stewart agreed to donate all his royalties from the song to United Nations Children’s Fund.
