A Look Back at 2013 – A Letter from the CEO

Dear Swaggernauts,

The third time is the charm! My end of year letter is now officially a Swagbucks tradition. For those who are new to Swag Nation or missed the last two letters (2011 and 2012), this is where I look back at the past year’s accomplishments and thank those who make it all possible. When I think about the first two letters one thing is clear: every year we are amazed at how much we’ve accomplished together and how much more we are capable of doing year in and year out. This is why we continue to focus on our simple yet important mission – to make your time more rewarding.

Let’s start our 2013 review with what matters most: family! We love big families and an even larger circle of friends! Our family, from Swag Central to Swag Nation, has grown with more engagements, weddings and adorable little babies than ever before (Keep your emails coming!). Chances are that many of your friends and family now know about Swagbucks as our membership base has grown to record levels. We also hear from our men and women of the armed forces and we’re glad many of you have come home. Thank you all for being part of our community and spreading the word of rewards and good deeds. One thing is for sure, there is power in numbers. Together we have been able to influence brands with our opinions, increase our bargaining power with advertisers and make sure our users are rewarded while our favorite charities are benefited as well.

We’ve hired folks from as far North as Boston all the way down South in West Virginia and up and down California from Oakland to San Diego. We are glad to be doing our part in employing more folks across the country and welcome them into our family. I’m so thankful for each and every one of our colleagues that keep our site up and running, fast and with more opportunities to earn than ever.

To make things even more rewarding in 2013 we kept all $5 gift cards at 500 Swag Bucks (Amazon.com  is still always on sale at 450 SBs), added more earning opportunities like Activities, launched our iPhone and Android Mobile apps, revamped our browser plugin making it easier than ever to earn while shopping online and launched the Swagbucks VISA credit card allowing users to earn from their everyday purchases at the grocery store, restaurants and doctors visits. That means Swag Bucks are not limited to your PC anymore. Now they can also be earned on your mobile and in your daily lives! If you haven’t tried our new ways to earn yet, what are you waiting for? Together with Search, Answer, ShopWatch and Play these earning opportunities make Swagbucks the most rewarding loyalty program ever created!

This is why for a 6th year in a row we’ve had a record year of Swag Bucks earned and prizes redeemed. This year Swagernauts have earned a record $19 million dollars in rewards for a total of over $52 million since we opened our doors.

Your time is so valuable to us that we want to make sure that every minute you’ve spent on Swagbucks is not only translated into cash and gift cards but is also entertaining. We hope you enjoyed our posts, challenges and competitions. I wish you guys could see everyone here at Swag Central, coming in every morning with a smile on their face giving their best for the privilege to touch people’s lives. There is so much more to do and we have lots in store for you in 2014. Stay tuned for a new and improved Search engine, a more rewarding Referral program and more mobile app updates. And please continue giving us your feedback. It helps us shape Swagbucks and cater it to your needs.

I wanted to thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart for continuing to make Swagbucks such a wonderful, caring and growing family. As always, I’m grateful to God for all the blessings. Let us pray for a healthier, wealthier new year and a happier more peaceful world. Let us also continue doing our part as moms, dads, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters to make 2014 the best year yet.

Happy Swagging in 2014!
