Music Monday – Foreverly

On this day in music history, The Everly Brothers signed a $1 million contract with Warner Bros. Records.  Not bad for 1960.  Twelve years later on this day, Billie Joe Armstrong, of Green Day fame, was born. And now in 2014 those two worlds collide.

Billie Joe Armstrong joined forces with Norah Jones last year to celebrate the delicate harmonies of Phil and Don Everly with their album Foreverly released on Reprise Records (a division of Warner Bros to complete the circle)

Here is their version of “Long Time Gone” – a song written by Frank Hartfod and Tex Ritter and also featured on the 1958 Everly Brothers album “Songs Our Daddy Taught Us”.

If you want to hear more you can pick up the CD (or vinyl) through Best Buy using Swagbucks Shop & Earn and get 14 Swag Bucks in return.
