This month, our chosen charity is the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.  This is an independent non-profit organization that has been supporting the United States military and their allies by providing medical resources and financial support since 2000.  The Fallen Heroes Fund is an ongoing attempt to give something back to the heroes of the military that sacrifice so much to keep our country and its rights secure.  In its first five years of operation, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund granted nearly $20 million to families of United States and British soldiers lost in the line of duty.  Since then, the Fund has focused on providing rehabilitation and necessary medical attention to those returning home.

Today we honor the life of of American singer, actor, and legend, Frank Sinatra, who sadly passed away exactly 14 years ago.  ”Sinatra had his first hit in 1940, working in the Swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1953 film From Here to Eternity.  He went on to score over 25 Top 40 singles including the 1966 No.1 ‘Strangers In The Night’.  His 1969 single ‘My Way’, re-entered the UK charts eight times and spent a total of 165 weeks on the UK chart” (ThisDayInMusic.com).  This song, written by Bart Howard in 1954, was recorded on Sinatra’s album, It Might As Well Be Swing, becoming the most popular version of the song.  This recording was actually played upon Apollo 10 by the astronauts on their lunar-orbital mission, and again on the moon itself by astronaut Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 landing.  Here’s Fly Me To The Moon:

I think that if you don’t enjoy each other’s company in a relationship, it will be hard to truly progress to anything real, and simply not worth it.  Of course attraction is important to a relationship, as well.

Mmm….I love potatoes.  I love french fries, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, scalloped potatoes, hashbrowns, tater tots – need I go on?  This poll was nearly impossible for me to answer, but I ultimately, I chose the baked potato.
