Swagbucks is Here to Help – DSimms72

Here at Swagbucks, we pride ourselves on the ability to help our members.  Whether it’s using Swagbucks to save money on groceries, pay your bills, get your holiday shopping done, or just kill your boredom, we are happy to assist you in any way we can.  We love hearing from our Swaggernauts as they express their gratitude to us, because it reinforces why we are here in the first place.  Here is a wonderful testimonial sent in by one of our Swaggernauts, DSimms72:

I am a new member to Swagbucks.  I joined one late night on February 28th, 2013, after not being able to sleep once again.  I started searching for work at home jobs as I have done this kind of work in the past. This is when I stumbled upon the Swagbucks website.

Here’s my story.

My husband and I had to relocate to a new town a few years ago as jobs in the city that we were in were hard to come by as he is a miner and the mines were all on strike or lay offs.  Doing this with 4 kids is not the easiest thing in the world.  After finally settling in to our new home, things were looking up for once in a very long time. I was back to work full time and so was he. Finally we were getting some order back in our lives.

A year almost to the date of us moving and finally getting back on our feet, my husband was in a car accident. He was a back passenger in a car that was cut off by a logging truck.  The transport pulled right out in front of them and there was nothing or nowhere for the guys in the car of which he was a back passenger of to go.  They all made it out alive and I am thankful for that every single day.  Unfortunately for my husband he was the only one that was seriously injured.  The accident broke the clavicle that attaches the shoulder to the collar bone.  He had surgery and they had to put in a metal plate to reattach his shoulder to his collar bone.  A year later and he is still not able to return to his job as a miner and may never have that chance to go back.

After all of this happening was a huge hit on our income.  Needless to say that after requiring to take full care of him and still work full time was no easy task for me, but we made it through the worse part of it.  The only downfall is that I got sick from all the stress and physical labour and was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and it has taken me away from my former job all together.

Last year was harsh for us and the kids.  Although they were so good about trying to understand that we could not afford anything other than keeping a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs, you could still see the disappointment in their faces when Christmas and birthdays came around and there were no gifts.  This had to be one of the hardest things ever for my husband and I to see.

Thanks to finding Swagbucks this year, we have been able to provide them with much deserved presents for their birthdays and Christmas that is coming this year.  Seeing their faces light up when they had a gift to open on their birthdays was the best gift that any parent could ask for.

Thanks Swagbucks for being there for people like us that are trying our best to do what we can when we can and helping us be able to afford the gifts for them and our family that we never could have done without Swagbucks

What an incredible and touching story, DSimms72, thank you so much for sharing it with us.  Here’s to many more years of rewarding Swaggin’!

If you want to share your story, e-mail us at  If we share your story in the blog, we’ll hook you up with 500 Swag Bucks!  Be sure to include your Swag Name, as well as a picture of yourself you wouldn’t mind sharing with the community.
