Happy Columbus Day

Posted by on Mon, October 8th, 2012 at 9:00 am

Many of us are relaxing at home right now rather than sitting at work, because we are honoring Columbus Day.  Columbus Day, however, means a lot more than a day off from work.  Today we celebrate the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas, which occurred on October 12, 1492.  Columbus Day first became an official state holiday in Colorado in 1906, and became a federal holiday in 1937, though people have celebrated Columbus’ voyage since the colonial period.  Since 1971, the holiday has been fixed to the second Monday in October.

As your enjoying the day off and marveling at the beauty of our country, here’s 9 Swag Bucks good until 11am PDT for all of our US Swaggernauts.  Enter it in the “Gimme” box on the Swagbucks homepage.
