As I’m sure most of you know, last month we ran our Mom Madness tournament to find the Ultimate Mom in time for Mother’s Day. After a long and grueling battle, Marge Simpson came out on top.
Now, we are getting closer to Father’s Day, so it’s time for us to find and crown the Ultimate Dad in the tournament I like to call “Dadness.” We will have four categories – Animated Dads, Dads In The Movies, TV Dads, and Dads In Real Life – and voting will begin on Friday, June 3rd.
Our dads that will be competing come straight from your suggestions. Today, I would like to announce the four Animated Dads who will be battling it out for that top spot.
Homer Simpson – Homer Simpson is the dad is three – Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. His loving wife, Marge, took home the crown in the Mom Madness tournament. After holding over 188 different jobs, he finally landed the position of Safety Inspector at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. His stupidity is so great it might even be considered creatively brilliant!
Peter Griffin – From Quahog, Rhode Island, this father of three spent many years working as a Safety Inspector at the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory. That was, of course, until his boss Jonathan Weed choked to death on a dinner roll; he then became a fisherman on his own boat. When that didn’t go according to plan, he picked up a job at the Pawtucket Patriot Brewery. When he’s not “hard at work,” he enjoys spending time with his buddies at the Drunken Clam, or relaxing at home with his wife, Lois.
Mr. Incredible – The incredible Robert “Bob” Parr is the father to three children: Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. He is married to his equally incredible wife, Helen Parr, who is known by her superhero alias, Elastigirl. Incredible possesses tremendous strength and heightened resistance to harm. Although he’s been forced into retirement, he finds way to sneak out and continue his superheroics.
Marlin – Marlin is an apprehensive clownfish, who lost his wife, Coral, and their clutch of over 400 eggs to a Barracuda. He is extremely over-protective of his only surviving son, Nemo. After losing Nemo on his first day of school, Marlin does whatever is takes to get his son back.
And there you have it – our four contending Animated Dads!
Who are you going to vote for?
