Today we honor the life of of American singer, actor, and legend, Frank Sinatra, who sadly passed away exactly 14 years ago.  ”Sinatra had his first hit in 1940, working in the Swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1953 film From Here to Eternity.  He went on to score over 25 Top 40 singles including the 1966 No.1 ‘Strangers In The Night’.  His 1969 single ‘My Way’, re-entered the UK charts eight times and spent a total of 165 weeks on the UK chart” (ThisDayInMusic.com).  This song, written by Bart Howard in 1954, was recorded on Sinatra’s album, It Might As Well Be Swing, becoming the most popular version of the song.  This recording was actually played upon Apollo 10 by the astronauts on their lunar-orbital mission, and again on the moon itself by astronaut Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 landing.  Here’s Fly Me To The Moon:
