Recycled Masterpieces

They always say that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.  I found a great article that serves as inspiration to recycle, reuse, and upcycle.  You know all of those magazines you’ve finished reading, the cans you’ve finished drinking from, the egg shells you’ve already cracked?  You’re probably ready to throw it all out right about now, but before you do that, make sure there are no ulterior uses for it.  Take a look at these pictures which are not only amazing and creative, but will prove to you that your trash may not need to go to waste.

Ever wondered where all the cracked egg shells go?  And now I’m even more confused than before – what came first – the chicken or the egg?

I bet you thought you’d have no use for your old cassette tapes once we switched over to CD’s.  Well, think again.  Use Erika Iris Simmons’ creativity as inspiration, and turn your old, unwanted tapes into a musical masterpiece.

Erika Iris Simmons specializes in using non traditional media like cassettes to create absolutely unique and memorable works

On the rare occasions that I venture into my overflowing sewing kit, I always wonder what on earth I’m going to do with all of the extra buttons I’ve been saving for years.  Thanks to Jane Perkins, I’ve discovered that buttons can be used for a lot more things than just sewing.

Jane Perkins uses broken jewelery, plastic toys and other small found objects to create iconic portraits
