Happy Music Monday! I’m excited because I get to guest-post today and feature two of my all-time favorite songs in honor of today’s Crazy 8s celebration.
The first artist for today was born appropriately on September 8, 1932 under the name Virginia Patterson Hensley but the world knows her better as Patsy Cline. Today’s track was written by Willie Nelson but became Patsy Cline’s signature hit – reaching #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs in 1961. I give you – “Crazy” by Patsy Cline.
My next favorite song for today is slightly more contemporary, released in 1985 on I.R.S. Records and peaked at #22 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks. Please enjoy, from Athens, GA, R.E.M. and “Driver 8″.
Today’s Music Monday Trivia: R.E.M. recorded an original track featuring the same name as today’s Patsy Cline song. What is the name of the album that the R.E.M. song first appeared? Leave your answers in the comments and the first correct response will win 25 Swag Bucks!
Also – What other “Crazy” or “8″ songs can you think of? List them below in the comments on I will randomly hook up 8 people with 8 Swag Bucks today!
By the way, did you know you can buy both tracks through iTunes in Shop & Earn and get 3 Swag Bucks per dollar in return? Every little bit helps!
