Born on this day in 1967 – Adam Yauch (aka MCA) of The Beastie Boys, the “biggest-selling rap group” according to Billboard in 2012. The Beastie Boys “Licensed to Ill” album made history in 1987 as the first rap album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Sadly, Adam Yauch lost his battle with cancer on May 4th, 2012. In response to this news Coldplay performed one of The Beastie Boys’ classics in their own style. Check out the moving tribute below.
