The Return of The Swag Gal

Posted by on Wed, February 10th, 2010 at 3:42 pm

Hey Swaggernauts! TSGal is back and better than ever and just in time for Valentine’s Day. Or, as we’ve been calling it around here, ‘Swagentine’s Day’. Valentine’s Day can be a gloomy day for a lot of people, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you’ve got no love interest at the moment, go out or have a party with other single friends. Sometimes, there’s couples that aren’t really into Valentine’s Day and they’ll join you on your singles festivities. So whatever Valentine’s Day weekend means for you, make the most out of it.

But, what if you have a date or significant other on Valentine’s Day? Well that’s exactly the question TSGal got this week….

Hi Swag Gal, I’ve been with my girlfriend for a few months and it’s our first Valentine’s Day together. I’m struggling with what to get her and what to do. I’m afraid I might wait too long and put myself in a precarious place when the day comes. Is there a gift that won’t come on too strong and do you have any last minute gift ideas?

-Brian E. of Puyallup, WA

Brian, there is such a thing as putting too much thought into a gift. This acronym works for most areas of life if you’re feeling like you ever have to be too creative or impressive; K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid). There aren’t many girls in the world that would be upset by the standard flowers and/or box of chocolates. If your girlfriend happens to be one of those girls that’s not into that, odds are, she might be into something sentimental or even homemade. You could make her a mix CD with your favorite songs or put a picture of you two in a cute fram. You could also draw her something, build her something or write her a song (assuming you have musical talent, never do that if you don’t…it’s just awkward for all involved :P ).

If you’re afraid of coming on too strong, obviously stay away from crazy flashy jewelry or books with the best names for kids in 2010. But, moderate jewelry, like pretty earrings or a simple necklace is great as long as you’re pretty in tune with her style. You can also do something nice for her, like buy her a massage and spa treatment. There’s so much you can do.

If you’re still having trouble, the Shop&Earn section has plenty of gift ideas in the steals section. This is great because you can get quick shipping if need be AND get rewarded with Swag Bucks for the money you spend on your lady. That’s not a bad deal. We’ve also got gift cards from ProFlowers and FragranceNet.com that you can take advantage of.

The options are out there. And, remember that the physical gift is never as important as the thought behind it.

If you have questions for me, just send them to theswaggal@swagbucks.com and if I answer your question in the blog you’ll get 10 Swag Bucks. Oh, and your question will be answered. Double cool!

See you guys next time and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Muah!
