Saturday Do-It-Yourself: Teacher’s Wreath!

Posted by on Sat, October 4th, 2014 at 11:00 am

How’s your Saturday going so far? For this weekend’s DIY project, we have a great idea from jnbrooks87 of Port Angeles, WA!

Show your teacher/school staff you appreciate them!(AND give your child something fun to put together) with this Teacher’s Wreath!

What you need:

  • Styrofoam ring (found in most craft sections)
  • 1 box of crayons
  • Ribbon (or fabric) to cover the ring
  • Rulers or ruler print ribbon
  • Separate ribbon for bow on top if wanted
  • Letters with sticky backs
  • Hot glue gun

Directions:

*Each item can be exchanged out for anything that you wish. ex: Letters can also be wooden.

  1. Take ring and cover with ribbon or fabric. (I used ribbon and wrapped around, gluing spots here & there)
  2. Put a spot of glue on crayon. Hold crayon on fabric for a few seconds to let dry.
  3. Glue decorations on (ex: the ruler ribbon as pictured below and letters)
  4. Add fun bow on top

Voila! A creative gift every teacher will treasure and every child will love making!

This is such a creative idea, thank you for sharing it with us! We bet a lot of these will be made this weekend!!

If you would like to submit a DIY or a favorite recipe please send it (with your Swag Name and a picture, please) to contests@swagbucks.com. If we publish your submission you will get 500 Swag Bucks!

Have a great weekend!
