I think the best word to describe technology is “amazing.”  The growth rate of innovative technology is simply unbelievable.  Technology has improved so much and so quickly that it is now helping to change people’s lives.  We sometimes forget that amazing technology is not only limited to gizmos and gadgets.  In this case, technology is helping a young woman enter a brand new and exciting world.  Watch her reaction as she hears herself for the first time after receiving a cochlear implant.

There are many things that we take for granted, and it’s amazing to see such a touching reaction coming from something that is part of almost everyone’s everyday life.  I cannot begin to imagine the thoughts that must be running through this girl’s head.  She has so much to learn and experience, and I am so excited for her to begin her new life.
