Charlie Chaplin was without a doubt an pioneer of modern film making, a pioneer of comedy, and a creative genius. Today would have been his 122nd birthday. Here’s a classic sequence from one of his 1928 masterpiece The Circus (which won a special achievement Oscar):
That clip is Chaplin at his best: quirky, acrobatic, charming and altogether hilarious. If you’ve never seen his work before, I highly suggest checking out any of his silent film work.
