Tying a Yellow Ribbon on a tree has long been a way of signifying that a loved one overseas in combat wasn’t far from the heart or the mind.
Back in ’73, this song by Tony Orlando and Dawn was particularly poignant as a reminder that so many of us have loved ones serving in the armed forces to whom we wish a safe and swift return. In light of the fact that Memorial Day is approaching coupled with the fact that so many of our brave troops continue to fight around the world, I thought this would be an appropriate choice for Music Monday:
