charity: water Update

Posted by on Wed, July 11th, 2012 at 7:00 am

Last week we introduced our new chosen charity for the month of July, charity: water.  There are so many things that we do every day that require the use of water that we just take for granted: brushing our teeth, showering, flushing the toilet.  There are many parts of the world that aren’t so lucky.

charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.  They use 100% of public donations to directly fund sustainable water solutions in areas of
greatest need.

Right now, 800 million people on the planet don’t have access clean and safe drinking water.  That’s one in nine of us.  Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.  Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren’t strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses.

As of now almost 75,000 Swag Bucks have been donated.  You can donate now by clicking here and don’t forget that you can track all current donations on our Official Charity Page.

Thank you in advance for your donations.

In 1992, the UN General Assembly designated 22 March of each year as the World Day for Water.” How are you helping to conserve ... Read More »
