DIY Of The Week: Wall Mounted Christmas Tree
When you don’t have a lot of space in your home, finding the right Christmas tree can be a challenge. What about making your own Christmas tree? It’s easy to do and you can re-use the materials for years to come! This version comes from Engineer Your Space and can be done by yourself or as a fun crafting night with the family.
Flexible Hang Tabs (You can purchase these on Amazon or your favorite craft or hardware store)
9ft holiday garlands
Christmas lights and decorations
Step 1: Mark the outline of the tree on the wall, using painter’s tape. I made my tree 3.5 ft tall and 3 ft wide at the base.
Step 2: Take a Flexible Hang Tab, slide the end of the garland through the perforated holes of the tab, remove the backing and then stick the tab to the wall, at the top of the triangle.
Step 3: Repeat the process, first going through the outline of the triangle and then filling in the middle of the tree, fluffing up the garland to fill in any of the blank spaces.
Step 4: You can hardly see the green tape so leave it in or remove it like I did. Decorate your tree. This is the fun part and you can add lgiths and ornaments exactly as you would any regular Christmas tree! Creating a base is optional.
